When I dye yarn, I often have leftover dye in the cups that I pour with. Sometimes it is a lot, sometimes it is a little. Instead of disposing of this dye, I combine it into a large, restaurant size, food-grade pickle bucket that was left in the shop from the previous owners, hence the name "Pickle Bucket Yarn". Then, I add some non-superwash yarn and let it absorb all those delicious colors.
Because the colors I use to dye yarn every day vary, this can create some beautiful tonals that are non-repeatable; truly one-of-a-kind. These selections come in small batches, usually around 2-5 per batch, so make sure that if you are getting them to make a project, you get all you need the first time you order because I cannot replicate these.
