Refund policy

I want you to be happy with your purchase. If there is a problem with your order, please contact me within 30 days of delivery.

Eligible for Return, Replacement or Refund.

I will cover return shipping costs and provide a prepaid return label when the issue is the result of an error on my end, including:

  • Damaged or defective items

  • Incorrect items received

  • Missing items from an order

Photos may be required to verify damage, defects, or shipping errors.

Once the issue has been verified, I will provide a replacement, store credit, or refund, depending on the situation.

Returns Accepted at Customer Expense

Returns may be accepted for the following reasons, but return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer:

  • Ordered the wrong item, base, yarn weight, or quantity

  • Changed your mind after purchase

  • Colors differ slightly from what was expected

  • Product details, fiber content, yardage, weight, or other specifications were clearly listed in the product description

Refunds for these returns will be issued after the item is received and inspected. Please mail all items you wish to return to:

Color Variations

Every effort is made to accurately photograph and display yarn colors.

Please be aware that colors may appear differently depending on your monitor, phone, tablet, lighting conditions, and screen settings. Colors may also show differently on each base do to varying fiber content and if that is the case, it will be noted in the product description.

Minor color differences are not considered defects.

If there is a significant discrepancy between the product received and the product shown, please contact me and I will review the situation on a case-by-case basis.

Final Sale Items

The following items are not eligible for return or refund unless they arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect:

  • Sale and clearance items

  • Mystery yarns, mystery bags, and mystery boxes

  • Digital products and downloadable patterns

  • Custom dyed or made-to-order items

  • Gift cards

  • Yarn that has been wound into cakes or balls at the customer's request

Condition of Returned Items

Returned items must be:

  • Unused

  • Unwashed

  • In original condition

  • Free from smoke, perfume, pet damage, or other odors

  • Not wound into cakes or balls

  • Not knit, crocheted, or otherwise worked

Items returned in used or altered condition may not be eligible for a refund.

Shipping Issues

Incorrect Shipping Address

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.

If a package is returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address, the customer is responsible for the cost of reshipping.

Marked Delivered

Once a package is marked delivered by the carrier, responsibility transfers to the recipient.

If a package is marked delivered but cannot be located, please check with household members, neighbors, and your local post office or carrier.

Mountaintop Yarn is not responsible for packages that have been marked delivered by the carrier.

Refund Processing

Refunds are issued to the original payment method after the returned item has been received and inspected. Refunds can also be issued to store credit if you choose. You can indicate your preference by sending a note along with your return request.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to an error on my end.
