The Suri alpaca has a long staple with non crimped locks and is known for its high lustre and drape. It is more difficult to spin because of its very low scale height but that gives it its lustre.

UK Alpaca’s suri yarns have been mixed with 25% baby huacaya alpaca and silk to give the finished yarn more loft and cohesion.

50g (1.76ounce) 225m (246 yds) for 50g skein.

Tension Square typically 28 stitches 33 rows using 3.25mm needles for 10x10cm square.

Ideal for all 4ply patterns.

For best results hand wash in lukewarm water and a specialist wool detergent. Hair conditioner in the final rinse will add extra softness. Do not rub. Gently squeeze out excess water before rolling in a towel. Re-shape and lay flat to dry. Modern machines with a delicate wash cycle can also be used if item is placed in a bag and set for 20-30degC. spin at 400rpm.
