This listing is for one full size hank, cake or panel. It will be randomly picked from the basket of Oopsies in the shop. 

Shop Oopsies are yarns that didn’t quite make the cut. They have no labels. Mainly because they have been sitting in a cubby in the corner of the shop and I’ve forgotten what they are. They are rogue, lost souls.

They are all hand dyed wool of various compositions and weights from my line of yarns. A wraps per inch tool can help you distinguish what their weight is if you aren’t able to eyeball it and tell.

Some reasons that yarn ends up in the Shop Oopsies pile:

  • I was in a bad mood that day
  • the color didn’t turn out exactly how I had it in my neurotic head
  • the vibe was off
  • I could tell it was going to be a pain on the swift ( don’t worry, I caked these for you )
  • unintentional colors got on them from me being lazy and not washing my tools
  • Johnny barked at it
  • and many more reasons…

Despite all these reasons, they are perfectly good yarns. 

Boundaries I have set for this listing:

  • I will not label them. This would drive the price up due to the increase in time and materials used on these yarns. I want to keep them super, super cheap.
  • They will be randomly picked when you order them. Again, photographing and listing each and everyone will increase the cost because it will increase the time involved. You must be adventurous and understand you won’t know what you are getting until you get it.

Care Instructions

Care Instructions
Non-superwash wool must always be hand washed in cool water with a mild wool wash and laid flat to dry. Do not machine wash, as it will felt and shrink with heat or agitation.

Superwash yarns can be hand washed in cool water for the best longevity, but they may also be machine washed on a gentle cycle inside a garment bag. Always lay flat to dry.

Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and high heat, as these can damage the fibers.

Blend-Specific Notes
Sock yarns with nylon (such as Snowdrift Select Sock) are more durable and tolerate gentle machine washing, though hand washing will still extend the life of your project.

Glitter yarns with Stellina (such as Gold Glitter and Silver Glitter) should be handled gently; avoid wringing or twisting to protect the sparkle filament.

Bulky yarns (such as Salcantay Bulky) are heavier when wet and should be fully supported while drying flat to prevent stretching.

Hand-Dyed Yarn Notes

Colors may be slightly different than actual product as computer and device monitor settings can alter the color appearance. We do our best to ensure that the yarns appear as they do in real life.

Our yarns are hand-dyed in small batches, so slight variations may occur between skeins. For larger projects, we recommend alternating skeins every few rows to blend color shifts.

While every effort is made to set dye thoroughly, some color transfer may occur on the first wash, especially with highly saturated shades. Wash separately the first time.

Yarn is dyed in limited lots, and colors may vary slightly from batch to batch. Please be sure to purchase enough for your project at once.

Large orders placed together will be dyed in the same session to ensure the closest possible match.
