Summer is the perfect time to experiment with new yarns and colors in your knitting projects. Hand-dyed yarns are a great option for adding some unique and vibrant hues to your summer projects. In this post, we'll share five hand-dyed yarns that are perfect for the summer season and what to make with them.

YarnNew Beginnings is a lightweight wool and nylon blend fingering weight yarn that works up light and airy.

Pattern: Camisole No. 5 by My Favorite Things Camisole No. 5 is a classic singlet top worked in rib.
Increases strategically placed for decoration gives the top a unique look and great fit.
The top is worked from the top down, which means that you can adjust the length to suit you and your body.

Yarn: April Showers is a lightweight fingering blend of wool and nylon featuring pastel colors perfect for spring and summer.

Pattern: Local Yarn Shawl The Local Yarn Shawl is a boomerang shaped shawl, consisting of simple lace, textured, eyelet and mesh stitches. The pattern is written for two sizes: Small and Large. The small shawl only consists of one color but in a gradient if desired (560 yards); while the large shawl uses two contrasting or “blendy” colors (350 yards each.) This makes this pattern perfect for those special hanks of hand-dyed.

Yarn: Beachside is a fingering weight yarn that features beautiful beachy colors perfect for summer time knits.

Pattern: Take Me to the Beach is knit top-down, back and forth to the underarm, then is joined in the round. Knit it full length as shown for a swimsuit cover-up, or knit it half-length for a fun, drapey tee to wear over a swimsuit or tank top.

Whether you prefer bright and bold or soft and subtle hues, there are plenty of hand-dyed yarns to choose from that are perfect for the season.
