March is the perfect time to get creative with knitting and crocheting! With the arrival of spring, I'm looking forward to creating some beautiful projects with my needles and yarn. I have some exciting plans for this month.
The Rent Shawl by Nicky Jensen
I have some beautiful bulky alpaca that I hand-dyed in February that is working up into a beautiful version of this shawl. The pattern is pretty easy to work up if you go for the simplified version, which I did because I wanted a nice project to work on in-between more complicated daily tasks.
When I dyed the Painted Lady colorway I just knew that it was meant for this gorgeous lace shawl. So, I didn't hesitate to cast on! The pattern is a bit complicated if you are following the written instructions, but I find calmness in focusing on the stitch pattern and look forward to the time I spend with it each evening.
Every crocheter knows Helen Shrimpton, me being no exception. I've personally finished her Mandala Madness throw and my goodness was it a feat! It turned out absolutely stunning though so I just had to go for a run with Virtue. I decided to use my fingering weight scrap stash to do this one and it is turning out so rustic and charming. I don't anticipate finishing things up this month, but I do hope to have made significant progress!
